King of Spades, Rakesh

Rakesh Morgan, the resident creepy werewolf of Walking Shadows.

Rakesh was born to a Welsh father and a British Indian mother. He showed his super-genius at an early age but remained unremarkable through most of high school. He graduated and attended King's College where he got a B.A. and M.A. in anthropology.

His First Change happened soon after, in a cemetery one snowy night in January. Death spirits cornered him and a great black dog hunted him down, and he changed. The Forsaken found Rakesh later, smashing headstones in a frantic effort to escape the phantoms. His rescuers knew then that Rakesh was to become part of the Bone Shadow tribe.

He took the deed name Shade Chosen and began studying the occult with great interest. His studies and experiments bordered on insanity, as he did not always consider the full ramifications of his actions on himself or others. Once, Rakesh was arrested for graverobbing, and this cost him his job at the National Trust.

Since then, Rakesh purchased a historic home, the Russell House, and opened an antique shop. The shop would have gone under due to Rakesh's lack of social skills, but the timely intervention of several friends helped keep the shop afloat.

Rakesh is a skilled ritualist, having dedicated much of his time to studying and understanding Forsaken practices. He has a collection of fetishes (seen above; the beads, the necklaces, and so on) and he constantly interacts with spirits to try and bind them or understand them. He has few boundaries -- Very little is too much for him to get involved with. So he's gotten into some nasty scrapes since his First Change.

Despite his oddness and eccentricity, he's considered a regional expert on ritual magic, spirits, and the occult.

Of course, he's also an extreme nerd so once you get him going, he'll lecture you to death.
